About: Occasionally, amidst the murky waters of rock music, a blazing light will emerge from the depths to show us that despite the muck and the mud, there is still a hopeful place where the river still runs strong.

Dressed for the Occasion was formed in Boston, Massachusetts in the summer of 2010 by Singer Addison Chase, lead guitarist Patrick Hopkins, bassist Alex Ferrero, and Drummer Michael Penney. Addison came to Boston in hopes of completing an acoustic album produced by Hopkins and, in a twist of fate, sparked the wildfire that would come to be known as “Dressed for the Occasion”.

Rooted in classics like Johnny Cash, The Beatles, Hank Williams, and The Doors, each individual member brought their own powerful mix of taste and style to the table, and created a sound that can only be described as a thunder storm of originality.

With their ground shaking performances, flashy attire, unique and memorable lyrics, and classic rock soul the band’s success grew fast. They began opening for world renowned acts like The Vibrators and The Hudson Falcons, played in clubs throughout the city like The Middle East and T.T. the Bear’s, and before long won the “Boston Battle of the Bands” offering a grand prize of a full-day studio session with which they recorded their first full-length self-titled album.

Since 2010 DFTO has rocked stages all over New England, and will forever continue to forge their way through the iron doors of rock n’ roll.

About: Sarah entered the world of music at an early age beginning with classical piano lessons. After 12 years of study, she turned on her heels and picked up a guitar to enter the world of rock. Sarah’s self taught vocals came from hours of training her vocals to the harmonies of Kate Pearson and Cindy Wilson of the B-52′s, whom she describes as “the most perfect harmonies”. Playing both guitar and piano Sarah creates emotionally-driven original music that her voice imprints into souls which she has been captivating audiences with in New England for the past 6 years. She has won a number of competitions including the Boston Folk Festival Songwriting contest at 15 and the John Lennon songwriting competition in which she took second prize at the age of 16. Having released her first full-length CD ‘Therapy’ by the age of 16, a year later, she released her second CD, the “Black and White” EP, both albums sold out. Along the way, Sarah has opened for Amanda Palmer in both New York City and Boston. Sarah is now playing shows throughout the Northeast and will be releasing a full length in early 2013 which was recorded with Bon Iver’s producer in Wisconsin. Be sure to watch for her.

About: Frank Viele constructs his sound beneath an acoustic funk ceiling with windows of alternative pop, folk and soul. A musical carpenter in the independent rock genre, this singer/songwriters approach mixes a dry wit with a soulful touch. A storytelling angle finishes out the floors of this building. Frank’s sound construction is cemented together by a solid blues foundation and his stylistically aware approach is evident in his singing and guitar playing. Working off the brick and mortar of influences ranging from Dave Matthews to Otis Redding and Ray Lamontagne to Johnny Lang, Frank delivers an authenticity showcasing a familiarity to the inspirations that came before him. Frank Viele is Acoustic funk, electrified with a shot of Pop, Rock and Soul. Add Rhythm and Blues for a Chaser.

A self-professed terrible driver, cartoon lover and blue-collar entrepreneur, Frank’s musical roots started in his hometown of Milford, Connecticut. His passion for music developed as early as the age of three, when Frank was imitating songs on his Grandmother’s piano that he heard on the television. As much about variety as versatility, Frank enjoys everything from Miami Dolphins Football to Salvador Dali’s Melting Clock paintings. He still reads Shakespeare and Greek Mythologies but would never miss an episode of The Simpsons. Frank’s wide array of musical influences include Sam Cooke, Bob Dylan, Jerry Garcia and Jimi Hendrix. In fact, Frank says the opening track on the Band of Gypsies Record changed his life. More modern inspirations include Dave Matthews, Ryan Adams and Ben Harper.

This spectrum of interests mixed with a great sense of humor and an introspective take on music, sports, food, art and life, defines a renaissance man in the truest sense of the word.
