The band released its four-track EP on May 13, 2012 and is now performing this newest music live. FCB’s songs have the perfect balance between vocals and instrumentals and have catchy beats that will get your head bopping.

Project Blue Book is made up of a whopping fifteen members playing a variety of instruments including the trumpet, organ, tenor sax, alto sax, percussion, and drums. Add in amazing vocals to this mini orchestra and you’ve got yourselves quite the band. Friday, July 19th at Hennessy’s Hooley House

Join us this Friday, July 19th, at Hennessy’s Hooley House in Fanueil Hall for an unforgettable night of live original music! The showcase features five bands with styles as varied as their names, from acoustic to Appalachian Irish rock. Friday’s show will have something for everyone, from fiddles to keyboards and plenty of foot-stomping rock, so come out for a great time!

Our first performer is Craig Cassler, a California native who settled in Boston and showcases an array of musical styles, from rock to folk to punk. With his eclectic acoustic set, filled with songs expressing Craig’s loves, pains, and experiences, you’ll be sure to get a raw look at who he is both from the mind and heart. He’ll kick off at 8 PM, but as Craig believes, any time is a good time for good music!

Next up we have Nothing to No One, a pop rock quintet hailing from Central Massachusetts comprised of the four Mello brothers and Jeff Lizzotte. Their pop sensibility is made unique by each member’s varied influences, and ever-present acoustic guitars and synthesizers make for the band’s full live sound. Catch some of the songs from their brand-new album, If a Tree Falls in the Forest, at the show!

Third is Goodnight Moon, an indie quartet from Northeastern University. Since forming in the fall of 2011, the band has quickly progressed from rocking open mic nights to playing the Middle East, All Asia, and Church of Boston. The band and their demo Apollo have been featured on Boston’s UNRegular Radio frequently, and their mellow, guitar-driven, Strokes-like sound has riveted audiences all over Boston. Their music will definitely capture you too!

Our penultimate act is The Great Whiskey Rebellion, a Boston-based band featuring a unique blend of traditional Irish folk and Appalachian string music with driving rock rhythms and instrumentation. You’ll definitely be jigging to this high energy set! These two-time winners of Pulse Magazine’s “Best Americana Act” Award are all about making music that gets everyone in the crowd on their feet.

Closing out the night is The Bildams, a rock quintet from Framingham, MA. Formed in 2010, the band has since played venues across the state, from Limey’s Pub in Framingham to the Rosebud in Somerville. Their album Live at McGann’s was released in April 2012, so check it out to get a sneak peek of Friday’s show! This band’s laid-back, reggae rock will definitely have the audience jamming during the final set.

Friday, July 27th at Davis Square Theatre

Come out this Friday, July 27, for a night of blues rock at our third show at Davis Square Theatre! The showcase will feature four ridiculously soulful bands that will keep you moving and jamming all night!

Kicking off at 8 PM we have Scarlett Drive, a country-blues quintet based in Worcester. They take extreme pride in their live performance: the mesmerizingly tight rhythm section will keep you tapping your feet, while 3-part harmonies and guitar licks will knock your socks off! Scarlett Drive recently opened for Huey Lewis & the News at the Bank of the West Celebrates America concert in Omaha, NE. Check them out and feed your craving for rockin’ country blues!

Next up is The ThrowDown Band, a blues/electric/rock group hailing from Walpole. With their aggressive, take no prisoners, guitar-shredding, soul-screaming approach to music, the ThrowDown Band’s live show will not disappoint. From excruciatingly soulful slow jams to hard-hitting, genre-bending rockers, a night with ThrowDown is full of peaks and valleys building to a crescendo that will slam you into a climactic explosion, leaving you dripping with sweat and begging for more.

Joining us from Middleboro is Bogged Down, a blues-jam quartet with so much funky soul that the audience can’t help but move. Since their formation in 2007, Bogged Down has played across Massachusetts and in New York, entrancing crowds everywhere. As they themselves like to, we recommend that during their set you “have a few drinks, get inspired, cut the lights and jam out.”

We close the night with Sturdy Moss, a Northern Massachusetts-based quintet featuring a blend of blues-infused-rock with a touch of soul- generally mellow, sometimes jammy, sometimes trippy, usually funky. With these passionate musicians’ colorful ability, decent taste, and improvisational fortitude, Sturdy Moss’s music is catchy and great for dancing late into the night!

Doors at 8 PM, 21+. Tickets $10 in advance, $12 day of show.

    Thursday July 26 at Limelight

Fleming Entertainment is happy to announce our Limelight showcase featuring a power packed set of artists such as Kenya Diggum, Lost Interest, Awakening Biota, Under Atoms, and Voodoo Swift.

The opening performance is by Kenya Diggum, a Boston based independent funkadelic rock group that began at Northeastern University. The band consists of Mark Brenckle on guitar, Ian Brenckle on bass and Matt Ripley on drums. With influences such as Phish, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Pink Floyd, the band has many covers to choose from as well as originals. In February of 2012, the band had their first live show at AfterHours. Since then, they have been working on new material and hope to play many more events in the future. We feel confident that this will not be their last!

Next up we have Lost Interest! This band was formed in Everett, MA in 2011 and consists of Rob Murray on bass guitar, Brianna Ciampi on vocals, Bass Rivas on drums (you thought we’d say Bass, right?), and Dave Joulfaian on guitar. Similar to Kenya Diggum, Lost Interest also played their very first show in February of 2012 and in May released their first demo “It’s Getting Really Awkward.” Their musical influences consist of The Beatles, Flyleaf, and The Smashing Pumpkins. The band has played live events in PA’s Lounge in Somerville and Hennessy’s Hooley’s House in Boston.

Awakening Biota is a grunge alternative band formerly from Marlborough, MA. The bands members include Gabo Flores on guitar and vocals, Phil Ward on Bass, Ethan Gavin on drums, and Adam “BadLuck” Baker as the roadie. Members Gabo, Phil, Ethan, and Adam believe that Awakening Biota was a “result of casual luck or destiny” which “happened to smile upon four local fuckups who had nothing going for them.” In our opinion, Gabo Flores accurately depicts his band when he says “if Nirvana, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and the Smashing Pumpkins were all to take a shit in the same bowl, there’d be us.”The band is influenced by musicians such as Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, and Nirvana.

Under Atoms, originally spelled Under Adams, was founded in 2001 in the small town Salisbury, MA by band members Heather Taskovics, Chris Bachmann, Steve Briggs, Jack Parsons, and Dave DerBoghosian. Currently they are located in Dave’s basement and have recently welcomed John Naroian, guitarist and Dave’s cousin, to the band. The bands influences include Tori Amos, Sarah McLaughlin, and Black Sabbath. They’ve played in venues such as the Hard Rock Café, House of Blues, and The Cantab Lounge and hope to get back into the studio to record! If Nirvana, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and the Smashing Pumpkings were all to take a shit in the same bowl, there’d be us”. “If Nirvana, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and the Smashing Pumpkings were all to take a shit in the same bowl, there’d be us

Lastly, we bring you Voodoo Swift of Plymouth, MA! Their ‘lax attitudes will be sure to put you in a good mood while taking you for a crazy ride musically. The band is made up of Kelly Orcutt on bass, Brendan Berger on guitar, and Josh Estrada on vocals and guitar. The group is influenced by bands such as Rage Against, Alice Cooper, All That Remains, and Static-X. Check out their Facebook, “Like” them and take a wack at their Trivia question to win a FREE T-Shirt!

We hope to see you there for a fun filled night at Limelight! Grab some friends, drinks, and food and enjoy the show! Remember, 18+ with valid ID, doors open at 8pm, $12 at the door.
